About The Festival
St Patrick’s Festival Killarney is a celebration of our culture and heritage and it heralds the start of the tourist season in the tourist capital of the world.
Killarney has welcomed visitors from all over the world for generations and the town and its people are proud to share our national day with everybody in this most beautiful corner of Ireland.
Killarney town will be buzzing with activity in the days and nights leading up to St Patrick’s Day in anticipation of the main event which, of course, is the gala St Patrick’s Day Parade. We invite you to join us on March 17 at 2pm for the start of our parade, join in the fun and be part of the magnificent spectacle.
This year we are celebrating The Earth / An Chré as the theme for our parade to celebrate the planet we live on, the ground that sustains us and the world we live in and share with 7.8 billion other inhabitants.
Marvel at the spectacular floats, clap and cheer for the marching bands, welcome the town’s community groups and sports clubs, meet the Disney characters and join in all the fun and keep your eyes peeled for an invasion of Earth Loving Bumble Bees.
The parade will start on Mission Road at 2 o’clock sharp and it will wind its way through the streets with no shortage of fabulous vantage points along the route.
